Our Physicians
David T. Schloesser, M.D. was
born and raised in eastern Kansas, with the exception of
a few years of his childhood, when his parents worked
overseas in Uganda, Kenya, and Australia. His education
was characterized by a mix of private and public schools
throughout. Dr. Schloesser started college at Washburn
University in his hometown of Topeka, Kansas. After
finishing his premedical requirements, he transferred to
Williams College, where he received his B.A. He
subsequently returned to Kansas to complete his M.D. at
the University of Kansas, in addition to completing his
internship at the same location.
An interest in neurosciences was firmly established
at the University of Kansas School of Medicine with
excellent mentors in neurology, neurosurgery, and
neuropathology. Dr. Schloesser chose to pursue neurology
and trained at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in
Lebanon, New Hampshire. He was subsequently board
certified.
After practicing for 5 years in Missoula, Montana,
Dr. Schloesser moved to Bend to join a single specialty
practice. During his time in Bend, Dr. Schloesser
assisted with the installation of a 1.5T MRI into this
practice. Additionally, he has been certified in MRI and
CT by the American Society of Neuroimaging. In 2011, he
received certification in neuroimaging by the United
Council of Neurological Subspecialties (UCNS). His
interests include the intersection of imaging with
clinical neurology, in addition to all aspects of
clinical neurology. Personal interests include the
application of faith to medicine, reading, skiing,
bicycling, running, and guitar, in addition to a number
of other pursuits.
